Lyrics and Type

While preparing my rationale for last weeks tutorial I realised that my Lyrics and Type brief was quite vague in terms of - What lyrics would I use?

Instead of just choosing 10 songs lyrics that I liked that other people may not even know, I decided I needed some sort of system/taxonomy too it.

I first started to think of groups that I start with;

- Past 10 Christmas No.1's
- Christmas No.1's of the 80's or 90's.
- Past 10 No.1 singles on my birthday.
- Past 10 songs to be the headline performance at the MTV VMA's.
- Past 10 Grammy 'Song of the year'.
- 10 songs with 'Mad' in the title.
- 10 most covered songs.
- Past 10 'Single of the year' at the Brit awards.
- Top 10 biggest selling singles.
- Top 10 songs with mis-heard lyrics.

(Some may change...)

I could't think of way to group songs that I like by lesser-known artists, so I decided that I would maybe just make that a personal project that needs no context or background research, just the words...and just a way of drawing more.
